Urology

Urology deals with medical conditions of the genital-urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, adrenal gland and male genital organs. Urology disorders can be very uncomfortable and inconvenient.

Although urology is classified as a surgical specialty, knowledge of internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and other specialties is required by the urologist because of the wide variety of clinical problems encountered. As such, Urology has been divided into seven subspecialties:

  • Pediatric Urology
  • Urologic Oncology (cancer)
  • Renal Transplantation
  • Male Infertility
  • Calculi (urinary tract stones)
  • Female Urology (urinary incontinence and pelvic outlet relaxation disorders)
  • Neurourology (Urodynamic evaluation of patients and erectile dysfunction or impotence)

Many urological problems are treated without surgery or using minimally invasive techniques. Some of the services offered at Gulf Diagnostics Center Hospital include, ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy), Cystometrics, Cystoscopy, Endoscopic Surgery, Pediatric Urology and Prostate ultrasonography.

Some of the conditions treated include:

  • Bladder Dysfunction
  • Bladder, Kidney and Prostate Tumors
  • Erectile Dysfunctions
  • Kidney Stones
  • Undescended Testicle
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urinary Tract Reconstruction

A range of surgeries are performed at our Operating Theatre and continued in-patient care and support is provided to facilitate complete and quick recovery.
